happy year of the bunny

Chinese new year happened without the usual fanfare in the perfumery this year. We have been consumed by the day to day and are a little behind in our year planning.

C'est la vie.

However, we have observed the turning of the year from horrendous aggressive Tiger, into easy going, fun loving, fluffy bunny with the release of a small and limited edition range of China Musk.

For all of you now expressing your dismay and disgust because you "hate musk", I say forget what you think you know.

Most of you think musk smells like what I call 'confectioner's musk'. This is the scent used in almost all products commercially produced with fragrance. The pink musk candy smell is what you are associating and this is nothing like real musk. It is like the difference between real turkish delight and that chocolate rubbish that makes me gag nearly as much as offal. Anyhoo I digress.

True musk is a soft warm scent filled with sensuality. It has a distinct sweet nutty odor with soft powdery metallic notes. With added hints of Jasmine Sambac it transforms into a luscious silky fragrance that whispers desire and promises ecstacy. Subtle and gentle. Warm and satisfying. This China Musk stirs the senses in new and exciting ways.

Now because I dont use animal products in my perfumery the creation of this scent using botanicals takes a bit of skill and at least three years for it to mature into the form I am satisfied with. Only small batches are created of the oil due to the cost of the ingredients and the quantities needed for the composition. This makes any of the products limited editions only.

Currently in the Atelier we have 15ml Parfum oils in a gorgeous Asian bottle with decorated box. We have a Milk Powder Bath Soak in a collectors Chinese Ginger jar or in a decorated tin. Each of these has real jasmine flowers as part of the experience. Utter divinity. A body oil is coming too. This scent has to be experienced to realize what a heavenly composition it is. If you are interested in making a purchase of this rare offer either e-mail or call the perfumery.

I hope the bunny brings all of us some much needed financial relief this year. I know many people (including myself) who could use a much deserved break in that area.

Happy bunny new year to you all

Cheers

The Baroness
