Soon we will pass through and every thing will be opposite. What was down will be up and all will be the wrong way around. Perfumery is already a kind of wonderland where nothing is what it seems, clouded in smoke and disguised by shiny reflections of other visions.
Lies an illusions.
Deception and clever confusion.
The perfume consumer is Alice. Lost bewildered and trying to make sense of nonsense.
When surrounded by this kind of world where truth is in the centre of the labyrinth it becomes easier to wander aimlessly and enjoy being lost rather than spend all our energy trying to get to the goal. In perfumery there are so many lies and much misrepresentation and loose interpretation the art and romance is lost with the truth.
Consumers must take charge and be responsible for making perfume companies and those calling themselves perfumers be accountable and answerable to the information they offer. Questions should be asked and must be answered. Deception should be reported and again must be answered.
This is not acceptable behavior for 'professionals' and just makes it even harder for everyone else.
I can say that any claims we make about our products are true and can be backed up by me. Any questions can be answered directly and clearly by the person who manufactured the product and all ingredients listings are correct and real. Natural, organic, and pure are such overused and abused words that the meaning is now diluted and polluted. It would seem 'anything' can be, and is, called natural and organic and the onus of proof is dependent on the consumer. Most people I talk to about perfume either believe all perfumes are still made from flowers or they are so frightened of the reported 'chemicals' they refuse to wear any scent at all. I get sick and tired of just anybody getting on their box and shouting this and that like a snake oil salesman. Isnt it hard enough these days to produce something beautiful of quality?*sigh*
To quote Shakespeare " truth will out " and when the perfumery industry and all those calling themselves perfumers land in the looking glass and are held to account, it is only those of integrity that can show the way out with their heads still on their shoulders.
Cheers
The Baroness
