Summer

We all know how much I love winter but this year it was long and tough going. Warehouse spaces are cold! I mean really cold! Even with heating. So this year there wasnt as much winter wonderland as more of a hibernation and conserving of resources. BUT

The sun is back and this year I have a new found appreciation for the warmer months.

A Bohemian Night in Prahran

This was my 40th birthday party. The theme was Bohemians in Paris. 40 people were invited - one for each year. Not all came and I said to my girlfriend that however many people showed up was the age I really am. There were 21.

You may be wondering when I will be writing about my latest perfumery creations and happenings.

Me too.

The recent disruptions in my life have all creative plans at a standstill and now I am completely distracted by my impending birthday celebrations. I am over work and cant settle into anything constructive. I need a holiday but the party will have to be my substitute.

Have you ever noticed that Sunday just always feels like Sunday, regardless of what you are doing? I have worked plenty of Sundays in my life but they never feel like 'just another working day'. Sunday has this mysterious lazy flow. Slower, more casual, relaxed and friendly.

food glorious food

As a perfumer I have a well developed palate and an almost unnatural interest in fine food and wine. I also love love love to dine out. I could seriously dine out most nights of the week. Most people would turn their nose up at this arguing that there is nothing like the process of cooking. That maybe true but, in my experience, as the preparer and cook you actually lose interest in the dish and are numb to its sensory delights by the time you have served up.
