Happy Monday morning tea

This week at the Fleurage Perfumery kicks off with morning tea. How utterly civilized. Some very special guests are coming. Jenny and her son from the blog The Balm- where natural and organic are the driving forces. With her will be Christiana Baulch -massage therapist from Carlton. The Balm has generously listed Fleurage on their page and I thought it only fitting to invite the gang to find out more about what we do here.

Anything to break out the fine china and have cake. Even more importantly though, I love to take people through the magical fragrant world we have created and teach them about the wonder of perfumery. Fleurage is a utopia of all things scented and my favorite moment is when people step into the showroom and take in the wall of perfumes and the many body and bath products, all grouped into their scent families. They get to see my perfumer desk where I work on my formulas, cabinets of perfumery books and bottles and jars, and the workshop area where we teach and also have our important meetings with corporate clients to design their custom ranges. I am also able to show a selected few through the manufacturing area where it all happens. My wall of precious ingredients, rows of bottles and beakers, packaging and processing equipment.

This is why we call ourselves a true working perfumery.

So many out there are loose with facts and information about perfume and very few actually have a hand in the manufacture process. To have someone who can answer questions and clearly show methods and discuss processes is both stimulating and satisfying for those looking for answers. I am more than happy to share information for the better enjoyment of fragrance in our everyday lives. Education about scent is more important than regulation.

The rest of the week I will be putting together a new bridal range and focusing on the website. Some of you may have noticed some important changes already. I will also be working hard on the Apprentice Perfumer course so I can get some information packs out to prospective students. Exciting times indeed. Happy Monday to all.

Cheers
