There is a huge gap in the market for guys and we try to bridge it. None of our male scents are themed around the typical vanilla, fruity fruits or strange musks. These odors only suit a very small demographic. Instead they are scents more suited to typically masculine skins, long abandoned by the more commercial brands.
We start at the fresh green notes with Mint Julep, Imp and Dryad and work our way through woods, spices, smoke, leather, animalic, oriental incense and even florals. Yes guys can wear certain florals and should give them a try.
The Chypre family is the most unusual covered by Poeticus, Dandy Boheme, Such a Boy, Himbo, and of course our pure Chypre. This formula is based on the style of Chypre from the 1800's. I recommend all men try this fabulous combination of mosses, herbs, soft florals zesty orange and warm animalic scents that transform on the skin.
It is my experience as a perfumer that men are probably more interested in scent than women on a personal level but they are less informed and a little embarrassed and therefore reluctant to pursue a perfume that makes them feel great. I welcome men in the perfumery and they are the driving reason behind our 'elegant' fitout rather than the traditional 'boudoir' style of perfumery aimed at women only.
Here is a tip though.
Guys never try to mask your natural odor with another. Just go with it. If you are a hairy sweaty guy, a fresh sweet herbal may seem like the ultimate combatting agent but you are getting confused with room sprays. Go with something deep, warm and animalic with a little spice and zing. This will complement your skin and not 'fight' with it. Also if you are in doubt about application- Less is more. I would love to see more men visit the perfumery and invest in fine fragrance so if you are inclined then come by or look at the website and any questions put in an e-mail.
Cheers
The Baroness
