We have been shooting all day today. I say 'we' but I really mean the gorgeous and supremely talented Katie Fairservice, who has generously donated her time and talent to capturing the luscious oasis of scent we have created. Lately it seems all I am doing is changing and moving but that is what transition and evolution is all about. Today I have personally been perfecting the gifting service we offer. Fleurage has gift options for events, corporate gifting (please all of you reconsider the cups and keyrings this year) and the general presentation gift wrapping we do here for all purchases. Wrapping is such an overlooked and undervalued art. No-one bothers to take the time to make things look wonderful, and many dont know how to fold paper and tie ribbons. Every purchase is treated as a special gift in the perfumery. Tissue, ribbons and tassels, gift cards and crisp elegant bags enclose our fabulous range. It is what I would expect for myself as a customer and a joy to do for others.
Next on the list is a new portrait and more work on the website.
On other fronts, I am deep into the new perfumers course I am designing and extremely happy to see the interest generated so far. I am so excited about offering an official course in high class perfumery in this country and counting this as a serious step towards my vision of creating industry through education. There is so much misinformation and random practice of what is called perfumery and I hope to set a standard and develop a code of practice. It truly is criminal what people are getting away with on their websites and the outright lies being told to the public.(as if it isnt hard enough)
But thats is a rant for another day and I have too much to finish for today.
