Workshop day

I just had the pleasure of hosting a fragrance identification and classification workshop for a small group.

Everyone knows I could talk all things perfume and perfumery 24/7 but I really do get a special buzz from these sessions. Being able to enlighten, inform and guide people through the word of scent is such a pleasure. This particular workshop helps people decipher the language of perfume and identify the family of scents they like. I take them through the science of smelling as a sense and teach them the basics of what perfumes are. We then go through categories and families of notes. So much joy is had from sniffing tiny bottles of rare and exotic ingredients. Too many perfumes list the notes of the fragrance but dont take into account many people dont know what any of them are by name and especially by smell.

Education through information and experience. Nothing can be more effective. I feel privileged to be able to connect the dots for people and make their experience of scent, in whatever form, more empowering and personally satisfying. I cant wait for the next one.

Cheers
