It saddens me that there are so many who are cynical and bitter about this day. It isnt a hallmark holiday of commercial rubbish. It is in fact a celebration of love inspired by a saint of one the world's largest religions. The central core of all faiths is after all love - isnt it?
It is a tragedy that people single out the one day of the year when open expression of love and affection is supported and encouraged, to be critical and condescending. I ask of those who laugh at the notion of celebrating valentines day "why is it okay for romance to be dead in your life?". "Why would you deny the love you feel for your partner or yourself?".
Has complacency replaced your passion? Are you too busy to bother with affection? Where is the love in your life now? Valentine's day is the perfect day to start anew and refresh your feelings for the one you love. Or maybe it is the day to just declare your love and remind each other why you are together(or want to be together).
Remember that love is not just for two people either.
The most valuable love is the one we feel for the self. We must learn to value ourselves and recognize our own worth. When we feel the deep peace and security of our own value we are able to confidently succeed at anything we wish to try.
On this day spend some time thinking about your love and then act on it. It would a shame to be left with the regret that love unexpressed offers us in later years.

Cheers
The Baroness
