2010 WORKSHOPS BEGINNING JANUARY 9TH - TAKING BOOKINGS NOW

Full Day Perfume Workshop held on these Saturdays: April 24th, May 22nd, June 26th and July 26th. 10am to 6pm.
A maximum of 10 people per class.
The cost is $1500 per person

A non refundable deposit of $500 is required at the time of booking and the balance payable on the day.

We devote a full day to completely immersing yourself in the world of perfumery.

With the personal guidance of the perfumer of Fleurage through every step we start with the the basics of Perfumery Fundamentals where each budding perfumer gets to work with a set of 16 base and body accords that can form any number of simple perfumes. This process leads to the exploration of Formula Development, considered the core secrets of perfumery.

Each Perfumista is then ready for the Advanced Techniques, where you create your final masterpiece of a true Eau de Parfum in the style of the great houses of 19th century Europe using all the information learned. At this point each participant will be able to add new exotic and rare notes resulting in a collection of 40 vials of oils and accords to work with and create their very own unique perfume. Each Perfumista will end the day with several mixed perfumes and formulas and a certificate of completion.

The cost includes:

  • a Fleurage Perfumery Kit of up to 40 precious oils and accords,

  • accoutrements and equipment to mix and test your creations,

  • a Fleurage bottle for your Eau de Parfum and

  • a light lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

The Fleurage Perfumery Kit includes:

  • a notebook to record formulas, ideas and assessments,

  • a complete folder of notes and

  • a carry case to hold everything.

Essential oils are like liquid gold

Essential oil absolutes, resins and concretes are the fundamental building blocks of botanical perfumery. They are also a very rare and expensive commodity. They are what we use in our workshops – the genuine exotic ingredients for you to experience first hand.

This quote from Wikipedia is an extract from an article about synthetic perfumery ingredients (indoles) which illustrates the dramatic scale of difference between the origins and pricing of synthetic versus plant based perfume ingredients.
